Transport available?
There are five types of service available.
Community Car Scheme
Volunteers use their own cars to provide individual transport
for healthcare journeys such as doctors, hospitals, dentists and
chiropodist or visiting some one in hospital.
Eligibility
- Live in the Malvern area
- Registered blind or disabled
- Have difficulty using public transport
- Have no other means of transport
- Over 65 years of age
Shoparound
This is a door to door service providing shopping trips on
Mondays and Thursdays, using a wheelchair accessible minibus.
Eligibility
- Same as listed under Community Car Scheme (see above).
Minibus Hire
There are two accessible vehicles available for hire weekdays,
evenings and weekends.
Eligibility
- Non profit making organisation
- Organisation within Malvern Hills District
Wheelchair Adapted Car Hire
Community Action have two cars which are specially adapted to
take wheelchairs. They can be hired for social trips as well as
medical appointments. A driver can be provided or the hirer can
provide their own.
The Swingaround Community Bus Service
Operates on Thursdays providing transport to
residents in Castlemorton, Birtsmorton, Coombe Green, Rye Cross,
Sledge Green, Pendock, Longdon and Hook Bank to the shopping areas
of Malvern including the Retail Park. Journeys must be
pre-booked by calling the Booking Line.
