Using Satellite Navigations
Satellite Navigation systems offer an aid to journey planning,
used safely in conjunction with road markings and signs, and in
accordance to the Highway Code.
Problems may arise from the use of such systems due to
inaccurate or out-of-date mapping software, where postcodes cover a
wide geographical area, or when HGV drivers use software intended
for cars.
Ordnance
Survey has recently reviewed their base map and added
information on utilities such as electrical substations, waterways
and wind turbines. This information will be available as part of an
update package for your system. Any inaccuracies identified in the
mapping software can be reported to the mapping suppliers directly:
