Weather Update - 5 February 2012
Worcestershire County Council's 31 vehicles will be rolling
out again at around 6pm tonight to grit the county's roads as
temperatures hit freezing again.
Rain is expected at around midnight tonight and then
temperatures are expected to rise.
Yesterday's gritting before the snow fell and then ploughing in
the afternoon meant that the primary road network was kept clear
for motorists.
For a full weather forecast visit the Met Office
website.
Jon Fraser, County Council Customer
Response Manager, said: "We've had the first real
significant snowfall of the winter to hit Worcestershire this
weekend so we've certainly been kept busy. We're expecting the
thawing snow to freeze this evening so as usual we're
asking motorists to take care and temper their driving according to
the conditions. The simple message to everyone is to never assume
it's safe to travel at normal speeds even if you think a road has
been treated with salt."
