Advice for parents-to-be
A recent poll revealed four in ten mums end up
in debt while on maternity leave and one in ten mums have to cut
short their maternity leave. Worcestershire County Council's Family
Information Service is supporting working parents-to-be in
Worcestershire by offering information and advice to help them plan
for their maternity leave, at free sessions held across the
County.
The next free session will be held on May 15
at the Finstall Centre in Bromsgrove at 6.30pm. During the two hour
session, parents will be able to find out about financial
assistance available, maternity/paternity leave and pay and more.
If parents are considering returning to work then the Family
Information Service (FIS) can provide lots of information on
childcare options, help with childcare costs and how to choose the
right type of childcare for your child.
Julie Stevenson, Team Manager for the FIS
said, "This recent poll has revealed that some parents are
struggling with the current financial pressures of having a family
and having a new baby should not be a time when parents are
worrying about debt. These sessions may help parents to plan their
finances around their maternity and paternity leave."

other sessions will take place, contact the Family Information
