Have a distraction free meeting

Worcester Woods Country Park is well known for its award winning café, the beautiful surrounds and the lovely walks, but did you know you can have a distraction free meeting there too?

The Countryside Centre has three meeting rooms which are available for the public to hire for anything from meetings, workshops to parties.

The meeting rooms are situated within the country park, and already have a loyal customer base, ranging across the not-for-profit, public and private sectors. The rooms also play host to children's birthday parties and family get-togethers, where the "Worcestershire Garden" with its wild flowers and beehives can be enjoyed from the Meadow and Woodland Rooms.

During school holidays the largest room, better known as the Woodland Room, becomes a place where enchantment and excitement take over, as Woodside Holiday Club provides day care for children from 3 years old.  Ofsted have said that the holiday club have an "exception setting" where children are really engaged in environmental activities.

Local horticulture lecturer, Martyn Cracknell, holds annual beekeeping courses for beginners, from the Pond Room. It can get a little messy when they make beehives, but the Pond Room is perfect for this type of activity.

Lots of local charities that have found the rooms the perfect location for meetings, team away days and training courses. Mencap and The Alzheimer's Society are regular hirers and both organisations hold training courses for carers here.

And something a little bit different, the UK College of Celebrancy frequently hold their funeral, wedding and naming celebrant training in the meeting rooms. The college is based in Sussex and they've found the central location of Worcester a good venue for their students to meet.

The income generated from these rooms help the Countryside Service to maintain its countryside sites to the high standard that attracts thousands of visitors each year. It also helps us to provide events, such as bluebell, bat and Halloween walks.

The award winning Orchard Cafe plays a big part in the success of the meeting rooms, proving catering and refreshments to room hirers. Their tasty buffets using organic, free range and fair trade ingredients are sure to wow any visitor. And their homemade cakes are simply delicious!

Laura Pitt, Countryside Centre Support Officer said: "The rooms offer a peaceful and charming location within the country park, which is easily accessible from the motorway and train station. With the flexible service we offer, we can cater for most demands and occasions. During the summer months in particular the meeting rooms garden comes alive with wild flowers and honeybees."
