Lucky resident bags iPod Shuffle and iTune
vouchers
One lucky Worcestershire resident was presented with an iPod
Shuffle and £15 in iTune vouchers, after winning Worcestershire
County Council's online payments prize draw.
Helen Cullwick was presented with the prize, which was kindly
provided by
PACE-Consulting, at County
Hall last month (March, 20).
The prize draw was set up by Worcestershire County Council as
part of its Do It Yourself initiative to encourage more residents
to ditch the cheque book and pay for their musical instruments
online.
Improvements have been made to the County Council's website,
www.worcestershire.gov.uk,
which include the development of the iPhone and Android apps, so
that customers can access services and information online at a time
that best suits them.
David Thain, Cabinet Member for Transformation and
Change said: "Going online saves both the
customer and the County Council time and money. It also means that
customers can log on any time of the day or night.
"Most organisations accept payments online these days and so
we thought we would provide this service for our customers too -
and so far the results have been very encouraging. Going online is
so much easier compared to the hassle of finding your cheque book
along with an envelope and stamp."
