Positive Behaviour

The Positive Behaviour Team consists of
professional trainers who have a depth of knowledge and experience
in working and supporting young people with challenging behaviour
at all levels.
Our aim as a team is to support and train all
staff/carers that work and care for young people who demonstrate
challenging behaviour. We offer a wide range of training to staff
in the support and care of young people.
Our main aim is for staff to be calm, positive
and purposeful in their approach, to have high expectations of the
participation and behaviour of pupils and young people.
Settings use our approaches, very effectively,
in the management of challenging and difficult behaviours in order
to support the learning of pupils/young people.
One of our main holistic approaches is
Positive Handling Training: The Positive Physical Interventions
Team offer a BILD accredited training for adults working and
supporting children and young people in all LA & Independent
service sectors, parents & carers. Worcestershire have
adopted the Team Teach programme in positive handling strategies
through a whole-setting holistic approach, working with leadership
and management, actively committed to reducing restraint and
risk. There are several course options, varying in
length and intensity, each designed to meet the need of the
setting, staff and children/young people. The make-up of the
training consists of power point presentation and table-top
activities. These explore behaviour, aggression and its causes,
de-escalation, diversion, responses to the stages of anger that
lead to a crisis, the law and its implications for staff,
reporting, recording. Additionally, there is practical instruction
on the physical techniques that may be used in your setting, such
as escorting and guiding a pupil and breaking up fights safely.
