Community Strategy

Community Strategy for Worcestershire
2003 - 2013
(1.11 MB)
If time travel were possible, we could zoom ten years into the
future and see what Worcestershire would be like.
You may be surprised to find that in a decade's time most of us
want the same things.
We want to live in a pleasant area with good health
services that make us feel well looked after. We also want to feel
safe and worry less about crime. Having an opportunity to learn at
school is important to us, but we also want good education
facilities so that we have the chance to continue learning
throughout our adult life too. We want to live in a prosperous
economy, but without damage to our environment.
All of your local government authorities, health and
learning providers, police and probation services and other public
agencies make up the Worcestershire Partnership, together with
voluntary, community and environment organisations and local
businesses.
We have joined together to try and deliver a vision for the
future and have put together a ten-year plan to improve your
services.
The plan, called the Community
Strategy, puts down on paper the things that you told
us would make Worcestershire a better place to live, work and play
in.
We have listened carefully to your aspirations for our county,
and promise to do all we can to make sure we do those things that
are most important to you. You told us you wanted:
- Communities that are healthy, and support vulnerable
people
- Communities that are safe, and feel safe
- Learning and skills for everyone, at every age
- Economic success that is shared by all
- A better environment – for today and for our children
- Connecting Worcestershire
