Worcestershire a great place to live and work

Worcestershire is located in the Heart of England
and offers a blend of outstanding scenery and a historic city,
towns and villages.
As a popular tourism destination the county offers visitors the
experience of the Malvern Hills, the cathedral city of Worcester,
woodlands of the Forest of Wyre, industrial heritage of Bromsgrove
and Redditch, the market towns of Pershore, Droitwich Spa, Tenbury
Wells and Evesham, the Severn, Teme and Avon valleys and the honey
coloured warmth of Broadway.
Situated in the Midlands, Worcester is just 32 miles (50kms)
south of Birmingham with excellent transport links by road, rail
and air. We offer excellent schools and access to a wide choice of
university and other higher education courses. The county's housing
market offers a varied range of modern and traditional homes and
locations to suit all budgets and tastes.

Tourism Information
If you joined the
County Council you would be coming to an organisation that already
performs well (our 'Four Star' rating by the Audit Commission
places us in the top category), but more importantly, where both
our elected members and our talented top management team are
committed to doing even better.
New employees often refer to an immediate awareness of a
friendly, open and positive culture. We are also pleased that our
people tell us that they think the County Council is a good
employer and value our flexible working provisions. They also
consistently rate the performance of their managers very highly,
particularly on 'living' our core values. Our values are
particularly important to us and we are constantly striving to be a
can-do organisation that gives its staff the freedom to get on and
do a great job for their customers.
The imminent launch of our new People Strategy will build on our
success by introducing some advanced people management thinking and
action, which will enable us to perform even better for our
customers.
Hopefully the above gives a flavour of the County and the County
Council and the exceptional opportunity this role provides. If you
have the commensurate talent, experience and ambition that can
inspire and lead us to greater things then we would be eager to
hear from you.
