Minerals and Waste Policy

The County Council is responsible for preparing Minerals and Waste planning policy for Worcestershire.

The City, Borough and District Councils are responsible for preparing planning policy relating to other matters.

Current Planning Policy

Community involvementThe Statement of Community Involvement sets out how we will involve the public and other stakeholders in Minerals and Waste Planning.

Waste Core StratergyThe Waste Core Strategy is used by the County Council to determine applications for waste management development. Some of the policies also apply to other types of development.

The Waste Core Strategy was adopted by Full Council on 15th November 2012.

Local PlanThe adopted Minerals Local Plan sets out saved policies relating to mineral development in Worcestershire.

We are now preparing a new Minerals Local Plan for Worcestershire.

Emerging Minerals and Waste Policy

second consultationThe Emerging Minerals Local Plan will be used by the County Council to determine applications for minerals development. It will replace the adopted Minerals Local Plan.

LDSLocal Development Scheme is produced by the council to set out the timetable for preparing new policy documents.

Strategies, Guidance and Evidence

SGA1The council has prepared technical research papers on the following topics:

SGA2The research papers are intended to give a summary of the evidence and policies that can be useful in addressing these issues.
The planning team is actively involved in promoting sustainable economic growth. Details of the work undertaken can be found on the Planning and Economic Growth and Infrastructure Planning sections of the website.

Annual Monitoring Report

Annual MonitoringAn Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) is produced by the council in December every year. Its purpose is to assess the effectiveness of the Council's existing planning policies and progress in preparing new Minerals and Waste Planning Policy
