The Research and Intelligence Unit monitors the economic well
being of Worcestershire. In this role the unit is involved in
the production of economic intelligence.
Monthly County Economic Summary
Each month the unit produces a County Economic
Summary containing the most up to date unemployment data for
Worcestershire. Included in the document is local and national
economic news, unemployment data at ward, district and county level
with an indication of how the pattern is changing over time and a
comparison with the regional and national picture.
Worcestershire Local Economic Assessment
The Annual Economic Assessment provides local
authorities, businesses and partners with a comprehensive picture
of local economic conditions and priorities. This will strengthen
their ability to make informed decisions which have the potential
to benefit the local economy, whilst contributing to the delivery
of sustainable economic development. The report contains key facts,
figures and analysis that will help businesses, the public sector
and other organisations to chart a course to recovery from the
national recession.
Economic District Profiles
The Economic
District Profiles provide a summary of key facts, figures
and analysis based upon the Economic Assessment 2010-2011 and the
monthly County Economic Summary. The profiles represent
the latest figures available and are a convenient source of
information about each district in Worcestershire.
Instant Atlas Mapping
Information about Jobseekers Allowance
(JSA) claimants have been mapped using the Instant Atlas
tool, to provide a picture at a local level of what is
happening around the county. These maps are available at Lower
Super Output Area (LSOA) and Ward level.

Labour Market Profiles
The labour market profiles are taken from the NOMIS website give an overview of
labour market information from a number of different sources. For
example, they contain information about economic activity,
working-age benefits, labour demand, earnings etc. There is an
individual labour market profile for each of the six Districts in
Worcestershire and they are also available for District Wards and
Parliamentary Constituencies.
The Office for National Statistics
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) produce a summary of
key statistics, these can be found at

Inflation Statistics
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) publish the latest
inflation figures for
CPI and
RPI as a time series, and are available on a monthly, quarterly
or annual basis.
