The SLCN Pathway
-
Introduction

What is the Worcestershire SLCN Pathway?
The Worcestershire SLCN Pathway has been developed to support
everyone who has an interest in supporting the development of
children's speech, language and communication.
-
Settings and School Development

This section provides guidance for settings and schools as they
undertake the process of developing SLCN provision within their
workplace.
-
Staff Training and Development

This section contains useful information about training options
and other professional development opportunities.
-
Universal Provision

What is universal provision for SLCN?
Universal support is intended for all children, not just
children with additional needs.
-
Support for Parents

This section is intended to support parents and is useful for
anyone involved with the child regardless of where they are
supported (e.g. in the home, in a setting or at school).
-
Individual Child SLCN Pathway

Sets out the process of identification of need, assessment and
intervention for children with SLCN and much more.
-
Identification of SLCN

Identification of SLCN can be problematic for many reasons:
children may have other difficulties as well as SLCN.
-
Targeted Specialist Provision

The needs of the majority of children should be met through a
universal approach. Universal provision and support is intended for
all children.
