Reducing Carbon Emissions
Worcestershire County Council has been taking action to
reduce carbon emissions from its own operations and activities for
a number of years.
The Council partnered with the Carbon Trust on their Local
Authority Carbon Management Programme throughout 2010/2011 to
produce a new
Carbon Management Plan 2011-16.
The plan will enable us to continue to reduce CO2
emissions from our Buildings, fleet transport, business mileage and
street lighting, with the aim to reduce emissions by 30% over
the next 5 years, from 2009/10 levels.
The plan outlines the Council's CO2 baseline data
(from 2009/10) and highlights projected CO2 emissions
from Council activities. It also details the carbon saving
opportunities which the Council already has in place and presents
further quantified opportunities that will be implemented over the
lifetime of the plan.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Worcestershire County Council also reports
on greenhouse
gas emissions
(62 KB) from the Council's buildings,
operations and activities.
