I
wish to hire a skip, do I need a permit?
If the skip is to be placed
within your property no permit is required and you may approach any skip company of your choice. Skips should be placed within the property boundaries wherever possible.
How
do I obtain a permit to place a skip on the highway?
Where it is necessary
to place a skip on any part of the highway (pavement, verge or side of the road), you will need to contact
a skip company registered with Worcestershire County Council. The skip company will apply for the necessary permit to place the skip on the highway.
How
much does the permit cost?
Each permit costs £25 and lasts for a maximum
of 4 weeks. The registered skip company placing the skip on the highway will be invoiced by Worcestershire County
Council at the end of the month in which the permit was issued.
What
if I require a skip for longer than this period of time?
If the skip
needs to be on the highway for longer than 4 weeks, the charge increases by a further £25 per month.
How
can I check if a skip has a valid permit?
To check if a skip has a valid
permit view the current list of valid skip permits

report this to us.
You can apply to
be registered with Worcestershire County Council
online electronically. Copies of your waste carriers license and public liability insurance for at least £5,000,000
together with confirmation that you agree to comply with the conditions should then be forwarded to
the address on the application form.

How
can I make a complaint regarding the location of a skip?
Any complaints
about location or safety of skips should be reported to us immediately by calling the Worcestershire Hub Logo
0845 607 2005. This will allow us to check whether or not the skip does have a valid permit, and ensure that the highways
remain as safe as possible at all times. Alternatively you may select to report a highways defect online.
Note: Applications for permission
are
to be submitted at least 5 clear working days (Mondays to Fridays) before it is required to place the
skip on the highway. To avoid disappointment a longer period should be allowed for A and B roads or
where parking will cause problems.
A fee of £25 is charged
for a skip to be placed on the Highway for up to one month.
