This strategy has been developed to address the need to increase the workforce capacity across all organisations providing support to older people, and was launched in June 2006.

Fairer Charging Policy for Non-Residential Services
Section 17 of the Health and Social Care and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983 (HASSASSA Act 1983) gives the Council the power to charge adults for non-residential services they receive. The Secretary of State has issued guidance on how the Council should charge for non-residential services, this policy reflects the guidance issued.
