Worcestershire Heritage Services

The development of an integrated approach to managing and presenting our heritage - developing it as a more socially inclusive and more comprehensive learning experience, as well as a key element in economic rejeneration, is one of the mainstays of current government thinking.

Over the past two years, the specialist heritage services employed by Worcestershire County Council (Archives, Historic Environment and Archaeology and the Museums Service) have increasingly  been working closer together on a number of joint projects.

In June 2004, those services, along with the Local Studies collections of the Library Service  were brought together in a more formal partnership as Worcestershire Heritage Services.   Whilst still preserving their individual identities and priorities within their specialisms, they will seek to develop common forward strategies and work together in developing exciting new cross-cutting joint projects.
