By Car

Directions to Bishops Wood

From Kidderminster

Take the A449 towards Worcester. Continue along the dual carriageway across one roundabout and past the Little Chef on the left.  At the next roundabout (Mitre Oak public house on the right) turn right onto the A4025 signed Stourport. Take the first left at the top of the hill (400 yards) into Bishops Wood Lane (signed Ombersley Golf Course and Bishops Wood)  After approx. 100 yards turn left into the National Grid Substation driveway. Turn left into the car park.  The Environmental Education Centre is on the left across the car park.  Follow the yellow brick road to the round building over the bridge.

From Worcester

Take the A449 towards Kidderminster.  Continue along the dual carriageway (past the village of Ombersley on your left) for about 6 miles.  At the Crossway Green roundabout (Mitre Oak public house on the left) take the first left onto the A4025 signed Stourport.  At the top of the hill (400 yards) turn left into Bishops Wood Lane (signed Bishops Wood and Ombersley Golf Course) After approximately 100 yards turn left into the National Grid Substation driveway. Turn left into the car park.  The Environmental Education Centre is on the left across the car park.  Follow the yellow brick road to the round building over the bridge.

M5 from the South

Exit at Junction 6.  Follow the A449 signed to Kidderminster.  At the roundabout continue on the A449 towards Kidderminster for about 6 miles.  Then follow the directions as above from Worcester.

From the North - M6 or M42 - join the M5 to Junction 6 (Worcester North)

Exit at Junction 6.  Following the directions as with those from the M5 South.

From Stourport

Follow the one way system through the town centre following signs for Worcester (A4025).  After approx. 3 miles you will pass two PYO farm shops on the right.  Turn right at the brow of the hill into Bishops Wood Lane signed Bishops Wood and Ombersley Golf Course. After approximately 100 yards, turn left into the National Grid Substation driveway.  Turn left into the car park.  The Environmental Education Centre is on the left across the car park.  Follow the yellow brick road to the round building over the bridge.

By Train

The nearest railway stations are Kidderminster and Worcester Shrub Hill or Foregate Street.
If you are travelling from the west or southwest you will probably find it easier to go to the Worcester stations,
and from the north, east or south-east it may be easier to go to Kidderminster or Droitwich via Birmingham.

•Worcester stations are approximately 7 miles from Bishops Wood.
The bus service number is the 303 to Kidderminster.   
The bus station is 5 minutes walk from Foregate Street in the city centre but 20 minutes from Shrub Hill.
Alight at Crossway Green (The Mitre Oak pub).  The bus journey is 25 minutes.
From the Mitre Oak pub to the Centre is 5 minutes walk – see map overleaf for directions

•Kidderminster is approximately 5 miles from the Centre.
The bus service number is the 303 or 304 to Worcester.
As with the Worcester service you need to alight at Crossway Green (The Mitre Oak pub).
The bus journey is 17 minutes.

By Taxi

Taxis are usually available at Worcester and Kidderminster stations but may be more expensive than ones ordered in advance.

The journey time from Worcester is 25 minutes and will cost between £15-18
