Events at the County Museum

Events at the County Museum include historic re-enactments, murder mystery, children's activity weeks and the ever-popular transport event.  Our exciting events programme for 2008 is listed below.

Mummies Day

Learn about the Mummies of Ancient Egypt and help to recreate one!  You can also make your mum a Mother’s Day card and gift or celebrate the day with a special meal in the Café

Medieval Merrymaking

Sunday & Monday

Return to the days of chivalry with our medieval encampment in Old Moat Coppice - Sir William Gascoigne's Fellowship will show you how ordinary folk lived in the 1400s. All the fun with none of the diseases!

Christmas at the Castle

Join us for a traditional Christmas celebration including Father Christmas, sleigh rides, seasonal gifts, craft demonstrations, children’s activities and performances by local choirs

The Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsmen have a permanent display and sales area in the museum shop.  Their unique craft work includes jewellery, homeware, clothing and decorative pieces using wood, metal, glass, ceramics and textiles.  

Every month there is also an In Focus display highlighting an area of their work.  For 2008 the In Focus themes will be:

February & March – Glass

April & May – Textiles

June & July – Wood

August & September – Jewellery & Metalwork

October & November – Ceramics

December – Gift Solutions
