The Worcestershire County Museum Society.

The Society is a registered charity and the recognised support group for the Museum. It was founded in the 1960s and re-launched in 1995, from which time it has gone from strength to strength.

The Society aims to..

.....

  • encourage people to enjoy the Museum and its collections
  • publicise and promote the Museum, and its activities and events
  • broaden members' knowledge and understanding of history and archaeology
  • liaise with other museum support organisations and local history societies on subjects of common interest
  • be another set of 'eyes and ears' for the Museum by gathering relevant information around the county

This it achieves by.......

  • organising an annual programme of talks on relevant subjects, which all may attend
  • holding 1-2 field trips to sites of historic interest each year
  • raising funds to assist the Museum in its work, and particularly with the purchase of new exhibits
  • liaising with Museum staff to share information and to provide voluntary support

As a member you will......

  • have half price admission to the museum
  • receive regular mailings
  • be able to work alongside Museum staff on projects
  • have discounted admission to talks/lectures
  • be able to meet people with similar interests
  • be eligible to serve on the Society's committee and assist with future planning
