The Worcestershire Record Office Big Blog
2007 marks the celebration of a number of special anniversaries,
including the Record Office's 60th. Between 11th - 23rd June 2007 we asked you to tell us about any
special anniversaries you were celebrating.
Although the period for the blog has passed, if there is anything
you would like to share, we would still like to hear about it.

30 years ago street parties were held across Britain to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee.

200 years ago an Act to Abolish slavery in the British Empire was passed.
Although this was not the end of slavery and subsequent acts needed to be passed, this year is being marked as an opportunity to reflect on slave trade and the ramifications.
