The Historic Environment Record (HER), including the Library,   is open to the public by appointment

• Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm excluding Bank Holidays.

Please note that dealing with public search enquiries is just one part of the duties of the HER staff.  It is for this reason that we ask people to make an appointment to ensure that we have appropriate staff on hand able to deal with your enquiry.

Charges

• No charge is made for searches of the Historic Environment Record undertaken for personal research or educational purposes.
• A charge is made for commercial enquiries  or where the search might be expected to be a claim on grant aid.  This is currently £50 per hour + VAT
