Congestion levels continue to rise as a result of ongoing increases in car use and the situation is likely to continue to deteriorate as long as the private car remains the dominant mode of travel choice.

Addressing congestion with large-scale road construction is neither a viable nor a sustainable option so we must find other solutions that meet our desire to travel and encourage greater use of sustainable travel. These schemes will significantly boost Worcester's sustainable travel infrastructure allowing much improved movement between the southwest and southeast of the city and those travelling to Worcester from Powick and Malvern.
