NOTES ON HIRE CHARGES [excluding County Hall]
1 The minimum charge will be for a two-hour session. Additional time required may be booked in hourly units at half the appropriate two hourly rate.
2 a. Toilet facilities (but not cloakroom) are provided free of charge.
b. Changing accommodation is not included in hire of outdoor facilities.
3 All accommodation reservations are subject to availability and readiness for use.
4 Summer rates : 1 May to 30 September
Winter rates : 1 October to 30 April
5 Additional charges
a. Moving chairs - Extra time required to be added to letting period
b. Stage lighting/piano - £2 per two hour session
c. Additional accommodation - At unit rates
d. Additional time - At hourly rate (see Note 1)
e. Heating premium - Where heating is required at weekends or during holiday periods a heating premium charge of £5 will be levied.
f. Where a caretaker or staff member is required to open up and close the premises, over and above normal duties which involve an overtime (or additional) payment this must be added to the cost of hire.
6 The scales shown overleaf will remain in force until 31 August 2008.
7 Joint Use Premises
Where an agreement with another local/public authority is in force the charges will be those applicable under that agreement and NOT those specified overleaf.
8 VAT (any queries should be addressed to the VAT Officer Ext 6521)
a. Letting of general use rooms, halls - exempt from VAT (VAT indicator 2)
b. Letting of sports halls, facilities for sports use - standard rated, ie subject to VAT at 17.5% (VAT indicator 4) except in certain circumstances where the charge is exempt from VAT (see circular issued by County Treasurer dated 9th March 1995 for full details)
c. Hire of additional equipment subject to a specific charge eg stage lighting, piano - standard rated, ie 17.5% (VAT indicator 4)
9 Accounts
For single bookings accounts at the agreed flat rate will be rendered after the event.
For regular bookings termly accounts will be rendered midway through each term.
Accounts for excess charges will be rendered separately
All accounts are payable within 1 calendar month of the date of issue. Non payment by the due date will lead to withdrawal of facilities without prejudice to other remedies
