Community Involvement
Community involvement in decision making
is a vital part of sustainability. Worcestershire's
residents and businesses need to be given the chance to have their say on the social, economic and environmental
aspects of different problems, enabling them to contribute to the sustainable development of the County.
What are we doing in Worcestershire?
The Community Leadership Team arrange local public meetings and other events, often involving Councillors and officers. They work to ensure that everyone has the chance to have his or her say about what happens in the County.
Worcestershire has a Citizens Panel consisting of over 2000 County residents. Questionnaires are sent out twice a year on a wide range of subjects, giving people the chance to have their say about the County Council, our policies and the services we deliver.
The County Council is one of many organisations which make up the Worcestershire Partnership. After listening to the aspirations of the people of Worcestershire, the Partnership have put together a Community Strategy., setting out how they will try to fulfill these aspirations. Sustainability is a key underlying theme of the strategy.
