Energy Efficiency

Inefficient use of energy is bad for the environment as well as your bank balance! Most of our energy currently comes from the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas. This releases climate change causing gases into the atmosphere. A quarter of all carbon dioxide emissions in Worcestershire come from our homes- heating, lighting and powering household appliances.

What are we doing in Worcestershire?

Energy Efficiency is one of the key themes of the Worcestershire Climate Change Strategy
Each District Council produces an annual energy conservation report. This assesses the energy efficiency of housing and identifies cost-effective energy saving measures.
Worcestershire local authorities, Primary Care Trusts and other service providers are delivering an Affordable Warmth Strategy. This seeks to reduce fuel poverty and aims to ensure that everyone in Worcestershire can afford to heat their home adequately.
