These come in a variety of shapes and sizes and are available from local garden centres, DIY shops and on the internet. We are currently offering subsidised bins to residents of Herefordshire and Worcestershire in partnership with WRAP (the Waste & Resources Action Programme). Prices start from £6 (including home delivery). For more information call 0845 073 2001.
Wooden bins are sometimes quite expensive, but they can look nicer than plastic bins and being square, they may fit better in your garden. They are great if you have a lot of material to compost, and want to go for a quick 'hot rot' to make compost quickly. They allow you easy access tho the composting material and its easy to mix and turn it over to aerate it.
You can opt to make your own bin to suit your requirements, or go for an open heap. Just remember to keep it covered if its getting very wet or cold. There are plenty of internet sites that provide advice and guidelines.
