This training is for
staff working with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) in England and Wales. It is designed to be used
as the basis for training sessions for staff who are working with people whose capacity to make particular
decisions may be uncertain or questionable, and for training those working with people who wish to plan
ahead or make their decisions in advance.

and primary and community health settings, including front-line services such as home care, day centres,
training centres, GP surgeries, community nursing services and health centres. The training focuses
on how the Act will be used in practice by staff in these settings.
- Mental
Capacity Act: e-learning course (course demo)
This course has been developed
in
association with the Department of Health. Its purpose is to update
anyone with an interest in the mental health sector with the provisions of the new Mental Capacity Act.
Worcestershire
County Council has a 30 day trial license for up to 100 users. Once this has been reached, new users
trying to
log on will be prevented from using the programme
You will need to follow
these steps to begin:
Step 1
Click
on the
e-learning link above, this will take you to the dedicated Worcestershire County Council e-learning
page where you access the course. Click on the Register here button.
Step
2
Enter your details. – You create your own user name and password.
Make a note of your username and password as you will need them for logging on in the future.
Step
3
Go back to your main page and click on the ‘Enrol’ button.
Your
Licence Number is: GYL0UT. Enter this in the field provided and you will then be taken to the course
menu. Click on the course title and the modules and units will appear. Now click on a unit
to begin.
This enrolment process establishes a link between you, the
learner, and the licence. Once done,
there is no further need to enter either the licence number on future occasions - simply log in and
you will be delivered to your course. Furthermore, if you are part-way through a course when you
log out, you will be delivered back to the point you reached if, on logging back in, you click on 'bookmark'.
