The Archaeology Service is keen to develop its contacts with Heritage Organisations but also seeks and receives new audiences (community groups) who do not have a traditional heritage remit, but who do have an interest in expanding their activities, or who wish to enhance their existing education programmes.
Lifestyles of Worcester is one such group; a voluntary sector organisation which offers student places for adults with learning disabilities. Other voluntary groups are expressing interest in community archaeology projects.
Lifestyles students have taken part in artefact processing and handling sessions which discuss the nature of society in different periods of the past. The Archaeology Service is available for community activities which assist traditional and new audiences.
