New Developments at Lower Smite Farm Work is under way at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust's Lower Smite Farm to develop farmland and buildings into a new facility for raising awareness of wildlife-friendly farming techniques.

Money from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Landfill Tax through Biffaward and the Severn Waste Environmental Fund, Wychavon District Council, and Trust members has helped raise over a million pounds towards the costs of restoring farm buildings, the creation of a new volunteer and education centre and the purchase and management of farm land around the buildings.

A new project manager - Carl Pickup - has been recruited, and he is working hard to get the project up and running, including working with architects on finalising the plans for the building work, organising volunteers and planning how to farm the land.
