About Us

Worcestershire County Council’s Press Office deals with all enquiries from local, regional, national and international print, broadcast and digital media.

It is staffed from 8.30am until 5pm on weekdays. Outside normal office hours, journalists can call the duty Press Officer.

The team, which includes former journalists, is part of the County Council’s Marketing and Communications Unit. The Press Office deals with around 1,000 enquiries and issues 700 press releases per year.

The Press Office aims to provide journalists with open, honest and accurate information within agreed deadlines, as explained in its Media Protocol.

Journalists with enquiries outside normal office hours, that need to be dealt with before the next working day, should call the duty Press Officer on 07947 407151.

The Press Office will work with partners and the media to communicate important information to members of the public in the event of a major incident.
