Fruit Trees for Worcestershire Scheme

Fruit Trees for Worcestershire

Worcestershire County Council supports the Worcestershire Orchards Initiative.  This initiative aims to record the presence of orchards across the county and develop ways of protecting and conserving them for the future.

Worcestershire was once renowned for it orchards and fruit growing, much of which has sadly declined. In an attempt to keep local varieties going the County Council runs a scheme offering local variety fruit trees for sale.

The trees are grown in partnership with Walcott Organic nursery and are available from November to February for planting in the winter season.

The Fruit Tree Scheme for 2008-2009 has now come to an end but the 2009-2010 scheme will begin in November. The new leaflet and application form will be available in September.
