C Card Scheme
C-Card Scheme

The C-Card concept has been operating in other areas for a number of years and is seen as a good way for young people to access free condoms easily. Young people are given a C-Card (credit card size card) when they register with the scheme. Only youth support workers who are Tier 2 trained can give out a C-Card and initiate the scheme. |
Young people can then use this card to get condoms for another 9 visits until the card is “full”. At each visit the youth support worker signs the card. Tier 1-trained workers can lead subsequent visits up to and including the 10th. At the 11th visit the young person must re-register with the scheme and so must see a Tier 2 trained youth support worker again .
