S52 Budget Statements

LEAs are required under section 52 of the Schools Standards and Framework Act 1998 to prepare a budget statement before the beginning of each financial year.

Please note:

From 2006/2007 the following changes occurred:

Table 0: ‘An account of the main sources of funding available to LEA's’ dropped from the statement and replaced by the Schools Budget Summary Table (SBST).

Table 4: ‘Schools Minimum Funding Guarantee’ dropped from the statement. Consequently ‘The LEA’s allocation formula’ is now table 4. Table 5 no longer exists.

S52 Outturn Statements

At the end of each financial year LEA’s are required to prepare an outturn statement relating to their expenditure for the year. Statements are submitted to the DfES and published in August of the following financial year.
