Support for childcare employers

Employment Law

Keeping up to date with employment legislation is a job in itself. The Family Information Service can provide employers with advice on employment legislation for working parents. We can offer advice on:

  • Maternity rights
  • Paternity rights
  • Adoption rights
  • Parental leave
  • Flexible working
  • Childcare vouchers.

An organisation’s workforce is its greatest asset and needs to be well looked after. Many organisations are experiencing recruitment and retention problems and work-life balance policies can help an organisation to:

  • Improve recruitment and retention of staff
  • Reduce stress levels and absenteeism
  • Increase motivation and productivity
  • Recruit a more flexible and diverse workforce
  • Become an ‘Employer of Choice’.

We also offer workplace support to advise employees of their rights and to help them find reliable, quality childcare to reduce unauthorised absences from work when childcare arrangements break down.
