Weather conditions in the United Kingdom alter dramatically throughout the seasons, and often catch people unaware and unprepared. Flooding, snow, fog, ice, gales and heat are all conditions that can cause disruptions to essential services, power failures, and the closure of schools. Extreme weather can also be hazardous to people’s well being, particularly vulnerable members of the public such as the elderly.
Worcestershire County Council works alongside other partner agencies to reduce the risk posed by severe weather, and restore normality in the event of an incident.
