Utility Emergencies

We all rely, and take for granted the utilities that supply our homes and businesses. Failure or disruption to these services (for example loss of power or water) can cause great inconvenience, or potential emergency situations.

The Emergency Planning Unit works in partnership with utility providers to ensure a multi-agency response in an emergency.

Preparing for a utility emergency

Individuals have a responsibility to personally prepare for utility emergencies. Consideration must be given to identifying alternative sources for essential requirements such as heat, water and medical needs. Click on the links below to find out more information about utilities.
