Which station should I use for Worcester City Centre?
Worcester Foregate Street. This station is located a short walk from the central area of Worcester. Worcester Shrub Hill is approximately one and a half miles from the city centre. Tickets are usually made out to “Worcester stations” so are valid for travel to either station.
Do I need to buy a ticket before I get on the train?
Yes. Most stations have booking offices or ticket machines. If the station is not staffed or the ticket office is closed then you will be able to buy a ticket from the train manager on board your train or when you arrive at the station you are travelling to.
You will have to pay a penalty fare of £20 if you are found to be travelling without a ticket.
What is happening to the Central Trains franchise?
The Central Trains franchise has now ended and a new rail franchise has been set up serving Worcestershire, the West Midlands region, parts of the north-west and routes from London to Hemel Hempstead, Milton Keynes and the Northampton area.
This new franchise is 'London Midland' and full details can be found on their website at:

The Cross Country franchise has also changed hands passing from Virgin to Arriva. Additionally, Arriva Cross Country now has responsibility for the Cardiff to Nottingham route. Arriva Cross Country is preparing for a major timetable change in December 2008.
