The new Planning, Economy and Performance (PEP) Directorate came into existence on 3rd October 2005 following a restructure of Worcestershire County Council.

PEP was created to ensure a renewed and increased emphasis on positively promoting the council and councillors as effective community leaders, to promote economic development as a corporate issue, and to enhance our reputation on a local, regional and international level.

The directorate combines the corporate Performance Management team and Communications Unit with Planning and Economic Development Unit and Partnership teams previously located in Chief Executive's Unit, Corporate Services and Environmental Services.
