venues / promoters

Shindig is nothing without its promoters and venues.

The promoter is usually a voluntary group or organisation which takes responsibility for promoting the show, from choosing the artist, booking the venue, publicising the event, selling tickets, liaising with the performers and running the event on the night. There are currently 44 promoters throughout Worcestershire.

The venue is usually a village hall or community centre. It need not be state-of-the-art, though it does need some basics (toilets, heating, lighting etc).

If you think you have the people and the venue and want to be involved, then contact your local arts officer (see contact us page) or Sue Roberts the Scheme Co-ordinator, on 01544 327 877 or sue@artservice.org.uk, for more information.
