The Worcestershire Climate Change Strategy is now being reviewed. The revised strategy is open for comment until 27th February 2009
The aims of the Worcestershire Climate Change Strategy are to:
| Raise Awareness of the Issue of Climate Change , e.g. through formal education, raising awareness amongst staff in organisations and businesses, and by incorporating climate change into other awareness programmes. |
| Reduce Climate Change causing gas emissions across the County by 10% by 2010 & 20% by 2020, by improving energy efficiency in homes, industries, businesses & other organisation, increasing use of renewable energy and addressing waste & transport issues. |
| Assist adaptation to the impacts of Climate Change on the County, e.g.on the buildings, the natural environment, infrastructure and our public services. |

| The strategy includes the Worcestershire Climate Change pledge ,which organisations, businesses & community groups can sign up to to demonstrate their commitment to tackling climate change. |
| The Strategy was put together by a range of Worcestershire Partnership organisations, including county, district & parish councils, the Chamber of Commerce, the Environment Agency, Marches Energy Agency, Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and the Warwickshire & Worcestershire Energy Efficiency Advice Centre |
| The Worcestershire Climate Change Group would welcome any comments and suggestions you may have on the strategy. |
