The Parish Mapping Project took place in the Forest of Feckenham area of Worcestershire. Four First Schools from within this area participated: Feckenham, Hanbury, Himbleton and Stoke Prior. The project celebrated the connections between people, places and wildlife. |
The children talked to people in the community and found out about local stories. They explored their local areas, including woodlands, farms and meadows. An artist worked with each school and the children learnt new skills, including working with textiles, mosaics, silk painting and engraving. |
Each school made a Parish Map to record what they found. A storyteller worked with each school and a film was made about the project. Find out more about each school's involvement in the project here. |
