  • Question.
Why is it called Worcestershire Sauce?
    Answer.
In 1830 Lord Sandy's returned from Bengal with a recipe he had picked up on his travels and asked two local chemists to make it for him.  John Lea and William Perrins carried out the instructions but they found the taste to be quite disgusting so they stashed the jars of sauce at the back on the cellar and forgot about them.  A few years later the jars were found and the two chemists decided to try the mixture one last time before they threw them away.  Lord Sandy's recipe had matured into a delicious sauce that has since been dispensed to cooks all over the world.
