Yew Tree Farm 1990.

Yew Tree Farm 1997.
Yew Tree Farm was first landfilled in 1958 and ceased in 1993. It was originally used as a sand and gravel quarry and was later filled by British Leyland and then the County Council to dispose of domestic and commercial waste.
It has a maximum depth of 20 metres and a minimum of 4 metres and was filled with roughly 456,000m3 of waste. The site was capped with 1 metre of clay and then 0.6 metres of subsoil. It has no engineered base and is therefore a dilute and disperse site.
There are a total of 17 internal monitoring points and 5 externally.
Monitoring of the external wells occurs monthly and the gas levels are consistently low.
The land is currently used for grazing.
