Household Waste Site (Recycling Centre) Site Rules
- Household Waste Sites ( HWS) are provided for Residents of Worcestershire
and Herefordshire to deposit their household waste. They are not able to accept waste from any business,
school or charitable organisation, or any waste carried for profit. The depositing of commerical waste
at a Household Waste Site is an offence; the maximum penalty on conviction is £50,000 and/or twelve
months imprisonment (or up to five years’ imprisonment and/or unlimited fine on conviction on indictment).

- All residents who bring their household waste to the HWS in either a commercial type vehicle
or vehicle towing a braked trailer, or non braked trailer over 1.3m load length (not including draw
bar/tow hitch) will require a permit issued by Worcestershire County Council. This policy is strictly
enforced. Customers without a CVT permit are not allowed to dispose or recycle waste. For more information

- CVT permit does not entitle you to deposit commercial waste and if the Recycling Assistant
thinks it may be commercial waste you will be refused permission to use the site and further enquires
will be made.
- Site staff are authorised to inspect any waste brought into the site, opening sacks if
necessary, and to question customers as to the origin of waste.
- Once deposited, all waste becomes the property of the contractor who may recover any reusable
and recyclable items. Waste cannot be removed from the facility by the public and trading is not permitted.
- All users must comply with the instructions of site staff and must adhere to all site
signage.
- Customers are requested to be courteous to site staff and other customers. Abuse and intimidation
of site staff and other customers will not be tolerated and legal action may be taken if this occurs.
- The Household Waste Sites are monitored by Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and Automatic
Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) for the safety and security of customers and staff. This information
may be shared with third party organizations for the purpose of enforcement only.
- To help us recycle as much as possible please sort your waste at home and put your waste
in the appropriate container. Please do not put non-recyclable waste in recycling containers.
- For your own safety parking outside and walking waste into the Household Waste Sites is
not permitted.
- For your own safety and that of site staff, site staff are not permitted to lift items
directly with members of the public. Items which require assistance to lift will be handled by trained
staff. If you require assistance in unloading please ask a member of staff.
- For your own safety the public are not allowed into marked hazardous areas.
- For your own safety access to the Household Waste Sites (recycling centres) may be restricted
when service lorries are operating e.g. collecting containers.
- For safety reasons all children and pets must remain in vehicles.
- Hazardous waste such as asbestos and chemicals must be disposed of correctly and only
at those sites which permit such wastes. Please ask a member of staff for help.
- All site users must secure their loads properly to avoid spillage and possible hazards.
- Smoking is not permitted on the Household Waste Sites.
- To access the HWS at Bromsgrove (Quantry Lane) or Redditch (Park Farm) you will be required
to display either a Residents Permit issued by Worcestershire County Council, or provide proof of residency
within the two counties (Worcestershire & Herefordshire). The following will be accepted as proof
of residency:
- Drivers Licence
- Recent Utility Bill (issued within the previous 3 months)
- Bank statement, Council Tax Bill, Property tenancy agreement
- Valid Commercial Vehicle & Trailer (CVT) permit
- Current insurance document
Failure to comply with
these site rules may result in customers being refused access to the site.
